This course deals with a discussion on theoretical underpinnings and principles in the study of the teaching-learning models and approaches in science education, with emphasis on survey kinds, examples, and strategies of it, including benchmarking on the best practices of the teaching-learning models utilized in Finland, Singapore, the US, and other acclaimed best educations schools in the world. This course also explores the teaching and learning models in some core courses/subjects like Physics, and Biology in international, national, and local settings. Methodically, this course employs a rich and interactive lecture discussion on all lesson topics, reading hand- picked and published articles related to the course, and watching/viewing selected podcasts that are lifted online. The submission of reflection papers and IMRAD papers (or I-introduction, M-method, R-result, and D-discussion format) as mini yet full-blown research serves as terminal outputs. The course adopts the blended mode of delivery with scheduled on-site classes, virtual (or synchronous) classes via Google Meet, and synchronous classes using Masao Learning Management System (LMS) and other alternative learning platforms like Facebook Group Page and Messenger Group Chat.
