This course deals with the understanding of the roles of the teacher as a person and as a professional within the context of national and global teachers’ standards, educational philosophies, and legal bases. It includes knowledge of core values that uphold the dignity of the teaching profession, discussion of the code of ethics for professional teachers, and awareness and understanding of existing laws and jurisprudence governing professional rights, privileges, and responsibilities, and teachers’ roles in the society as transformative agents of change.
