This course covers mining and environmental laws, policies, implementing rules and regulations, legal and ethical issues affecting the practice of Mining Engineering, Mine Safety Rules and Regulation. Further, BSEM Students will be engaged to the real scenario and on-hand experience to the mining industry especially on the environmental laws, policies, implementing rules and regulations, legal and ethical issues through symposiums, seminars and mine visit. Mining Laws encompasses the previous mining acts up to the current Philippine Mining Act of 1995, Mining Engineering Law of the Philippines, Indigenous Peoples Rights Act, Local Government Code, etc. Environmental Laws will cover the existing laws in the Philippines relating to the welfare of the environments as well as and DENR Administrative Orders.
