This course will cover two aspects:
(1) a description of the physical attributes of the Planet Earth - providing an overview of the Earth's crustal and internal structure, shape and rotation, its elastics, magnetic, gravitational, thermal, and electrical properties; and
(2) the applications of physics to geology - discussing theories and applications of physics on the study of the Earth and rocks, including seismology, potential fields (gravity, magnetic and electrical properties), and heat flow.
