This course provides an overview of the history, processes, products, and applications of traditional and modern biotechnology, including ethical issues, benefits, and perceived risks to man and the environment. The course aims to provide even the students with basic information necessary to discuss biotechnology and make their own assessment of the benefits and risks of biotechnology products.


This course offers a wide array of learning activities to cater to multiple intelligences. These learning activities are carried out in a flexible/blended format. Course content and learning materials are accessible through the Moodle Learning Management System (masaolms) of the University while class discussion, laboratory activities and major exams are done on-site.
