The course is a basic introduction to public administration for graduate students of MPA. The course focused on fundamental theories, concepts, issues, trends, and processes in public administration and how these relate to societal governance and its impact to civil society. All these are considered within the framework of the pursuit of national development and global awareness.
After successfully completing this course, students should be able to:
.Discuss the basic concept, nature, theories, principles, application, processes and practices of public administration.
Analyze the dynamics of the interaction of the government with civil society, the impact of globalization and the challenge of national development.
Demonstrate the ability to analyze practices and operations of government and bureaucratic institutions.
Apply the different policy analyses and techniques in the landscape of administrative theory and practice as they relate to national issues and concerns.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the ideas, issues and trends of public administration and national development.
Articulate and discuss the latest developments of public administration in the Philippines.
