This course covers the current status of Philippine agriculture, classification of crops based on utilization, the concept of plant growth and development including physiological processes. The course also encompasses the environmental factors affecting crop production and the impacts of climate change on the agricultural sector. Students are expected to recognize and understand the current status of Philippine agriculture in terms of crop production and food security in the context of sustainable agriculture. Moreover, the students are able to discuss the basic concepts, environmental factors and physiological processes affecting plant growth and development.
