This course deals with introduction to quantum mechanics of solid state electronics; milestones in electronics; diode and transistor characteristics and models (BJT and FET); diode and transistor circuit analysis and applications (DC Power Supply Design); transistor biasing; small signal analysis; large signal analysis; transistor amplifiers; Boolean logic; transistor switching with Relays.
ECE 101 consists of 54 hours lecture and 54 hours laboratory covers the quantum mechanics of solid state electronics, characteristics of diode and transistors including its design and analysis. All the learning resources such as e-books, lecture videos, power point or pdf presentations, and laboratory activity sheet, will be uploaded in Moodle -an online platform designed for flexible learning. The learning resources will be uploaded accordingly based on the projected schedule of topics in this syllabus. All the lectures and corresponding mode of assessment will be given online. Face to face classes and examinations will only be conducted once the local government unit and CHED permits, as well as the minimum health standards and preventive measures amid CoViD-19 are strictly implemented. Quizzes, assignments, laboratory exercises and major examinations will be given to students enrolled in this course to assess their learning and capabilities.
