An introductory course designed to acquaint students with concept concerning the taxonomy, physiology, genetics, evolution and ecology of the different types of animals. Lectures on the anatomy and physiology of the various organ systems emphasize on mammalian examples. In the laboratory, the toad is used as a model system for the study of vertebrate anatomy and physiology. Field trips, video films, prepared slides and preserved specimens will be used as learning resources in the laboratory.
