This course focuses on the nature, structure, and dynamics of social institutions with an emphasis on the Philippine setting. These institutions include the family, education, economy, religion, government, military, health, and recreation among others, which are viewed from a macrosociological perspective.
At the end of the semester, the students are able to: 1. understand the nature and functions of social institutions 2. identify the functions of the different social institutions 3. analyze the changes and problems of social institutions 4. comprehend the relationships of the various social institutions.
