General Botany is an introductory course that will prepare the student for upper-level coursework in biology or biology-related fields. It covers the structures, functions, and life processes of plants, plus the biological principles of plant breeding, propagation, biotechnology, plant classification, evolution, diversity, and ecology. This provides “real world” applications of how plant biology affects our everyday lives. The laboratory portion of the course will support the lecture in reinforcing overriding principles.
