Microbial ecology is a 5-unit course (Lecture-3; Lab-2) that introduces the relationship of microorganisms to abiotic and biotic environmental factors. Specifically, this course focuses on interactions of microorganisms with their environment, each other, and plant and animal species. It includes the study of symbioses, biogeochemical cycles and the interaction of microbes with anthropogenic effects such as pollution and climate change.
