This course covers the concept of engineering materials including metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. It covers the study of materials and their structure and properties, crystallography, phase diagrams and phase transformations, processing, diagnostics and application.
The application of basic principles to the study of mechanical, physical, and chemical behavior of materials are also included in this course. The selection of materials in engineering applications are based on materials properties and processing.
