This course will explore the genetic and molecular basis of heredity and traits. Also, it will explain how genetics and genomics reveal an understanding of the human condition that includes genetic diseases, cancer, and human ancestry and evolution. Equally important topics such as discussions on how basic and translational research on genetics impact improvements on human health and current ethical considerations related to human genetics will also be tackled in this course.

 

This course offers a wide array of learning activities (e.g., discussion-based lectures, computer simulations, infographics making) to cater to multiple intelligences. These learning activities are carried out in a flexible/blended format, and the course content and learning materials are accessible through the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) provided by the University.
