The course is designed to provide the student with the background knowledge of information technology needed to analyze, evaluate, and manage information systems and information resources for organizations.  The topics include:


  1. The terminology and fundamental components (software, hardware, database, and networking) associated with information technology;
  2. The development of information systems to solve a business problem, enhance decision making, and gain competitive advantages in this Internet era; and
  3. The impact of information systems on individuals, organizations, and society.
