Course Description: The course is an introduction to the nature, scope, basic concepts, theories, and methods of sociology as a systematic study of society. As a foundation course, a little of every little common social concern is taken in this course.
This course aims to develop and nurture among students a better understanding of people and his/her experiences in society; develop a positive attitude towards his/her own culture relative to the different cultures all over the world and familiarize students with matters concerning social responsibility.
The activities given to students are to determine their abilities to analyze and apply the sociological concepts and theories using examples that are focused on current global and Philippines current events/issues.
