This course is designed for graduate students to give them an overview on conducting research and enhance their interaction with people and the scientific community through symposiums, scientific forums, or conferences to share knowledge with peers and critique the work of others to stand the scientific rigors. To effectively learn how to do science, one has to do research, which means working independently on a project with a coherent set of goals. In this course, a mentor-apprentice (adviser advisee) relationship is used to guide each student through the different phases of the research process.
