This course deals with the fundamental principles of mechanics and their applications to the simple engineering problems involving static equilibrium; forces and moments and their vector representations; systems of discrete and continuously distributed forces; analysis of beams, frames, trusses and cables; frictions; center of gravity and centroids; first and second moments of length, area, volume and mass; virtual work.
