The course includes the study of the fundamental research-based concepts and principles in curriculum and curriculum development as a foundation to engage prospective teachers as curricularists. It focuses on the more active role of the teacher in planning a developmentally-sequences teaching learning process; identifying constructively-aligned learning outcomes and competences; contextualizing, localizing and indigenizing curricula; implementing relevant and responsive learning programs; and evaluating the curriculum towards its improvement. The teacher’s individual collegial and collaborative roles in managing school curriculum change vis-à-vis various contexts of teaching-learning, curricular requirements and curricular reforms shall also be given emphasis.

The course utilizes online platforms for the delivery of lessons, i.e. subscription/connection with the University’s Learning Management System or LMS, Zoom, Google Meet,  Facebook Group/Page/Room and Messenger group chat; online resources like short video clips (mostly adopted/borrowed), e-books and links.

This course requires reflection papers, critique paper with presentation, two (2) major examinations, i.e. Midterm & Final Examinations.
