This course covers the current status of Philippine agriculture, classification of crops based on utilization, the concept of plant growth and development include physiological processes. The course also encompasses the environmental factors affecting crop production and the impacts of climate change to agricultural sector. Students are expected to recognize and understand the current status of Philippine agriculture in terms of crop production and food security in the context of sustainable agriculture. Moreover, the students are able to discuss the basic concepts, environmental factors and physiological process affecting plant growth and development.
